Music To Drink To...

...In A Cocktail Lounge.
(I might make this a weekly feature on the blog from now on.)

St. Germain - Tourist.
At any point in time, in at least one cocktail lounge around the world, a track from 'tourist' will be playing. The album embodies the stereotypical sound one would expect to be played in a modern, trendy bar. A perfect mix between smooth jazz and the sequenced stylings of an electronic album.

Pnau - Sambanova.

Pnau have made quite a resurgence in the last year or so due to their pop-orientated third self-titled album, but their debut album 'Sambanova' released in 1999 is just as good in a fairly different style.  The synth's are smooth, the bass is relaxed, throw in some cheeky brass cameo's and you've got a good recipe for cocktail music.
